We have accommodations for people, animals and trailers. We also offer food service.

CabinHobo's Hideout Bed, Breakfast and Barn offers a 740 square foot apartment with private entrance, covered patios, fire pit, water feature, porch swing, patio seating and buffet area (outside). It also boasts a queen master bedroom, a queen fouton in the great room, cable television, dining table, private bath, wood burning stove, a full service kitchenette and breakfast bar (inside). The room features locally made custom aspen furniture, and local artwork.

Relaxing by the fireMancos is now home to several world renowned artists, with three galleries, a western hat maker, and a distillery. Mesa Verde National Park, Hovenweep National Monument, Canyons of the Ancients, Canyon de Chelly, Ute Tribal Park, eight reservoirs and lakes, and two major rivers are within a short drive*. Telluride and Durango ski areas are within an hour and a half or less. We can assist trail riders, fishermen, and hunters to find professional guides, and can provide assistance with airport pickup and rental car access.

*NOTE: Although several of the local parks and national monuments do accept trail riders, several do not, and will not allow towed vehicles of any kind within park confines. We will gladly take your horses, dogs and trailers or motorhomes while you tour those areas, and we will arrange for "daytime only" rates in that event.

Chris and dinnerWhile a hot, freshly cooked breakfast is included with your room, additional food service is also available. In season, we try to use locally grown and organic whole foods in our preparations, and will gladly tailor our menus for Gluten Free, Lactose Intolerant, and otherwise allergic guests. We Pizzaprovide lunches and dinners, and special occasion meals for additional costs. Picnic, saddle bag and backpack lunches are our specialty - all homemade on the premise. For travelers who prefer to prepare their own meals; your room's own full service kitchen, while small, provides all the modern kitchen amenities with utensils, cooking tools, and tableware for four. You just provide the food! Surrounding cities of Cortez, Dolores, Telluride, Rico, Durango, and Farmington all have a bevy of restaurants, breweries and wineries to round out your dining experience while in the area.

BarnHobo's Hideout Bed, Breakfast and Barn was born from an idea to provide reasonably priced, one-stop lodging for people traveling with their equines and canines, whether to a show, a rodeo event, or trail riding. Of course, we can accommodate other animals as well. If you show up at the doorstep with a camel, we will find a place for you and yours.

Four - five box stalls are available in the Mountain Shadows show barn, and we have two turn out corrals. One large dog crate, and a ten-by-ten foot kennel is located at your room, but additional crates and stalls can be provided for those traveling with pony sized canines or multiples. Shavings for the box stalls and hay are free with stall rental. Proper health certificates and travel papers must be presented upon arrival. Chris and Dimitri Schlotter, Hobo's Hideout owners and your hosts, are experienced show and trail horse handlers, breeders, and amateur trainers, and are former dog breeders. You can be assured of quality care and regular feeding while you play the day away for your fuzzy family members.

Hobo's Hideout Bed, Breakfast and Barn
gladly accepts Living Quarters travelers on a graveled pad near the barn. Water and power are available at that location, and we can also evacuate waste tanks. We will gladly rent a small two horse trailer for anyone wanting to reach more remote trail head parking areas with their horses. For point-to-point riders, we can drop you at your trail head and pick you up or drop your trailer at your destination point.
